In addition to the ABA All-Star game, in the last couple weeks I've heard about a World Gymnastics meet (the only US location on the tour) and college LAX showcase (featuring a rematch of last year's championship) coming to Jax. Not bad for our little town, eh?

We had another major gymnastic event here a few years ago that I attended. I think the Tyson cup or something like that.
I was excited to see the gymnastics event also.
I've wondered before why we couldn't hold a world caliber sailing event?

correct...it was the same event in 2007, sponsored by Tyson at that point....I think having Shannon Miller living here has helped attract gymnastics events
There are also a couple of things in the works on the Rugby Leauge front that are in the early planning stages that could include teams from the UK and Austraila
All this and we are 49th on the list of sports cities. Give me a break.
