Title: I'm very surprised . . .
Post by: JaxNative68 on December 08, 2010, 09:38:01 PM
That the 30th anniversary of the loss of a world icon went unrecognized by everyone on this site today.  Althought he was a man who stood for peace and anti-violence, he died thirty years ago to this day on the streets of NYC quite violently.  John Lennon Oct 9, 1940 - Dec 8, 1980.  A man every generation could look to for inspiration.

This one is for you John...

Crown Of Creation lyrics

Quote
You are the Crown of Creation
You are the Crown of Creation
and you've got no place to go.

Soon you'll attain the stability you strive for
in the only way that it's granted
in a place among the fossils of our time.

In loyalty to their kind
they cannot tolerate our minds.
In loyalty to our kind
we cannot tolerate their obstruction.

Life is Change
How it differs from the rocks
I've seen their ways too often for my liking
New worlds to gain
My life is to survive
and be alive
for you.

Okay, so it's a tad more spaced out when you LUI (listen under the influence...)

There was a candle light vigil and memorial in Friendship Park the night after his murder.  It was an incredibly sad and moving occasion. We were there having just moved back to Jacksonville the month before.  Was anyone else on this forum there too?

I remember the candlelight vigil at Friendship Park. Lots of people were there.
Don't know of too many rock stars who have been killed by a fan. Was this the first time?
