Make a Scene Downtown, a part of the The Office of Special Events in the Mayor's Office has been in the process of reviving one of Downtown's most cherished memories: The Annual Window Displays during the Holidays. Anyone over the age of 40 remembers the elaborate window decorations and vignettes, when people came from all over the county to go window shopping after the stores had closed, and the holiday carols and parties. This year's project drew some great entries, and MetroJacksonville was invited to help judge. This is the kind of thing that Downtown could use a lot more of. Check out this years project and get into the holiday spirit.

Beautiful! We're going to head downtown this weekend to see the Gingerbread exhibit at St. Andrews Church and the window displays.
Imagine that mixed with a "Nights of Lights" similar to what St. Augustine does... That would be HUGE!
This is great! Wish we did it in downtown Miami......
Looks great. I did one last year. Wanted to participate this year but it was just too expensive and time consuming. Everyone did a fantastic job!
It would be more inviting if the City would put up Christmas decorations downtown.
Looks sexy, Keep hope alive

you mean holiday decorations :)
Great idea.
If we go to the restaurant where all the JEA bucket truck employees hang out and collect unemployment, we can probably use their services to hang the "holiday decorations".
I thought this was a great, relatively inexpensive idea to bring more people downtown during the holiday season last year--any window displays planned for 2011? Didn't notice any mention at Artwalk this past Wednesday. :(
yeah, i noticed that DVI didnt push that this year. and so much for the city putting up any decorations downtown (besides banners on Laura st). Another dark year goes by.
lol that Candyland one is my favorite.
