Just a reminder that tonight is Christmas In Avondale. For those who may have never been, it is a great holiday event for kids and adults. This will be me and my fiance's 5th straight year going. It's kind of our anniversary.

The Avondale Merchants Association will be hosting its annual Christmas in Avondale celebration on Friday, December 3rd, beginning at 5:00 PM in the Historic Shoppes of Avondale on St Johns Avenue. This year’s event will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the completion of the beautiful street and sidewalk improvements. The event will include horse-drawn sleigh rides, Christmas carolers, Santa Claus, plus something new and unique for Jacksonville -- an ice slide! The annual event is the merchants' way of saying thank you to the many friends and neighbors who frequent the Historic Shoppes of Avondale, a quaint shopping village with locally owned businesses, located in the heart of Avondale.
