Title: Construction Activity at the Swisher Plant
Post by: sheclown on November 25, 2010, 11:11:57 AM
I drove by yesterday and saw construction activity at the Swisher plant's empty lot (16th & 17th, Liberty to Walnut).  They must be getting ready for their expansion.

Any news on what exactly are they expanding?  Is it warehouse, manufacturing space or just parking?

I don't know.  They did get permission to close off Walnut from 17th to 18th to make a pedestrian bridge between the new building and the old.

They put up a crane in the main complex and are replacing, repairing, adding to the main building.  They are using the empty lot (OK, Block) as a staging area.  But the activity is good as that does mean they are getting closer to or actually starting the expansion.
