Well whatever the place is going to be... Any new news on what it's going to be or when it might open? I've heard a couple of things so far (Irish pub, jungle themed bar...). Just wondering if anyone has any firm details.
Not yet, ive seen no headlines...Maybe lake has info on that spot.
Seems like nothing is going on at that spot. Hey, maybe it can be a Fudruckers..lol
lol thats rich!
the owners of Vito's and Benny's have the rights...I hear it is an Irish Pub that opens by New Years
That spot seems a little odd to have an Irish Pub in, in my opinion. At the end of the day though it's better than nothing. Still would've loved to see Fuddruckers actually open at the Landing...
imo Fuddruckers is pretty lame....so while a chain would have been nice to draw in the "suburban folk", I'm fine without Fuddruckers
Can we all just get over the Irish Pub theme.
If there's not some ginger behind the bar with the last name of Flannigan serving my lukewarm Guiness and shots of Tullamore Dew with the constant drone of U2 in the background and some wiry-haired dog asleep in front of a roaring fireplace. It's not an Irish pub - it's just a bar that has an Irish name.

If it'll pay more than I'm making now, I'll handle the bar and use my grandmother's name of O'Shaughnessy.
That good enough?

Tell em why mad son!
Too much cookie cutting going on. Where is the imagination?
mmm...Guiness
i'm pretty sure real irish pubs won't touch U2 with a 10-foot pole.

Sorry CD, you don't own a pub to make money, you own a pub to hang out with all of your retired friends and tell old war stories and fish tales. The last name works though, but no offense, it reads kinda like O Shag nasty;)
It's more often said "o-shock-n-see" by the true Irish jokesters.
And unless my great uncle Jimmy wants to open something for retired football pros and such as a good bar (and it would be awesome I'd think), I'm tapped for ideas.

This from the guy who had to argue that Winn-Dixie was a downtown dining out option...
Fuddruckers would certainly have been better than the empty space.
Funny I walked by "The Venue Formerly Known as Twisted Martini" and couldn't really tell that any work has been going on, from the looks from the outside anyway. Additionally, I don't know too many Irish Pubs with that type of architectural style. That will be something new I guess. Maybe it'll be a South Florida themed Irish Pub...

Jameson Mojitos, Potato Coladas, Guys in Micro-Kilts, Sheep-Stomach Sushi Instead of tanned and blonde bartenders we'll get pale and gingered bartenders. I say run with it. ;D
:D ;D :D ;D

Lol, well come on Tufsu, any time we all have the chance to rattle each others' cages I think we avail ourselves of the opportunity. Just for entertainment value if nothing else. Getting harder and harder to find a good witty debate in this city, and regardless of whether we agree or not, I certainly do appreciate your intellect.
Well here it is the New Year and no Irish pub, American Bar or anything. Anybody have any updated information on the venue?
they were doing some work prior to New Years....but I think that may have been just clearing out liquor to sell in the courtyard over the weekend.
