Title: Sustainable Springfield puts some "meat" on the community garden topiary!
Post by: sheclown on November 13, 2010, 06:19:55 PM
I stopped to watch Sustainable Springfield put some moss and vines in their COMMUNITY sign.  This sign was designed and built by master topiary artist, Robert Florio, with the help of Joe and master welder, Kevin, of Team Recovery.

Since its completion, Sustainable Springfield has been busy raising funds to flesh it out.

The topiary reminds us of the strength of community involvement as it overlooks a harvest of home-grown abundance sprouting from a once-empty and vacant lot.

The group also cleared a lot across the street which will soon be home to a community orchard.
