Title: Can anyone recommend a good dry cleaner?
Post by: BigGuy219 on November 11, 2010, 01:01:23 PM
My first attempt at getting clothes dry cleaned in Jacksonville failed miserably. I won't say where I took them, because I don't engage in mud slinging. Especially when I don't have anyone who can get mud off clothes at the moment.

Can anyone recommend a good dry cleaner accessible to downtown residents?

My favorite is Sand Dollar On University Blvd N. I now live in Baymeadows, but when I stayed in that area they were awesome. And for every order over 15.00 you get a sand dollar that is worth 1.00 off. I loved racking those things up.

I went there today on your advice. The manager seemed to be great and thought he could fix the damage that was done.

I used them ONCE, but will not again.  Going to try the place near the corner of Park & Dancy just up from Orsay.  Anybody had any experience with them?

Jerry, Those aren't dry cleaners, they're vacuum cleaners.   :D

I went there for the first time this week and was quite pleased. Everything was clean and well pressed. They even removed stains that I did not point out to them when I dropped off the clothes--my test for how attentive a dry cleaner is. Plus, they are a green cleaner, so your clothes won't have that overpowering chemical smell. I, too, have tried several dry cleaners around town without much success, but I will go back to this place.

They're called the Laundry Station, I've used them for years.

Here's a secret JaxByDefault, they do pick up and delivery to/from your house without any extra charge. Schedule for Riverside is that pickups and dropoffs are on mondays and thursdays. It's really quite nice never having to schlep clothes around, and having them pressed and hung on my door when they're done.

Dry Clean City at the end of University down by Hendricks/San Jose is great.  Real good prices too.  It's right next to the MOJO BBQ.
