Title: Hello Everyone From Downtown Duval
Post by: downtownduval on November 06, 2010, 03:22:39 PM
I have lived in the Downtown Jacksonville area for about four years and I have been fascinated with the downtown area since I was a child. I have followed Metro Jacksonville as well as any other source for information I can find about the area for quite some time. In the last year or so we have formed a collective known as Downtown Duval. We are hoping to help create opportunities and raise awareness of the downtown area. We would like to appeal to the average Joe and show the opportunities in downtown for families and people who don’t feel like they have a place in our urban core. Sometimes we create an insider’s vibe downtown that doesn’t always feel welcoming and friendly to outsiders. We hope to erase these types of stigmas and show that everyone has a place with us down here. I look forward to being a part of what you folks are doing here at Metro Jacksonville and want you to know that we really appreciate it.

North Bank between the river and springfield so I am very interested in closing the gap between downtown and springfield. I was loving the talk of opening a more inviting walkway through confederate park to downtown. I would also love to see the Brooklyn area develop to connect downtown with riverside.

Have you ever been in a kayak? How would you like to experience the Waterway of Hogans Creek from Washington St. to the St. Johns River next to the Maxwell house plant. Would this be considered a middle boundry between Downtown and Springfield?

Welcome.
