D'Fontana Restaurant, though they still have a sister restaurant under the same name at Jacksonville Beach, each went independent and Green Cove Springs has the original owners. Born in Sri Lanka, and raised in ITALY, with a stint in New York, there can't be better Italian food this side of Sardinia.
The building itself is one of the newer ones in Green Cove Springs, with ample parking. The dining room is quite small being no larger then most mall boutique stores. Clean to the last detail, once the door is opened one feels as if you have just entered someones cozy pub and is swept away by the sweet aroma's of wonderfully prepared meals.
We had a large 16" pizza half cheese and the other half with pepperoni and mushrooms. Honest to God New York, Italian taste, VERY LIGHT on the tomato and seasonings I haven't experienced since I was wandering somewhere on the other side of the pond. THIS PLACE DESERVES A VISIT, by anyone who enjoys a true international treat. Buried on East Ferris Street, turn left off of US-17 (Roosevelt - where 16 turns west to Penny Farms).
