Well, I hope you have more pics than just the stadium.  You could've shot me an email and I'd have shown you the TRUE sights;-)  Oh, and technically, the stadium is NOT in Dallas, it's in Arlington which is also where the Rangers ballpark is...a BEAUTIFUL park.

Did you get out to Ft. Worth?  They will be hosting all the Superbowl festivities there instead of in Dallas (Arlington sits right smack inbetween the 2 cities).  The mayor of Ft. Worth really rallied with all the sports stations to check things out there and won out in the end because they (the stations) couldn't believe how active the downtown area was on any given day at any given time...and it is.  Downtown Ft. Worth on a Wednesday evening is packed with folks going to the movies, out to eat, or shopping, just as much as it is on a weekend and is beautiful in its architecture.  Dallas is dead...seriously...especially on a Saturday afternoon.  The most excitement you'll see is during the summer at the aquarium or the zoo.

Nice pictures.  It shows the scale better than media photos I've seen in the past.  The place is just massive.

No, strictly a Jags game roadtrip. I'll post some more later. Both the stadium & ballpark look gorgeous.

Sounds like to me the new stadium is the only they are having the superbowl there. Someone else told Dallas was a very dead town also. Thats kind of like having the superbowl in Jacksonville and hosting all the festivities in St Augustine ( just as an example, I know st augustine is dead. LOL) That is weird. Atleast Ft Worth is getting a piece of the pie.

That is the most un-football looking stadium I have ever seen.  What is wrong with classic Lambough Field type facilities? I love that look way better than this Area 51 type building they built for the Cowboys.

So I gotta know... did you watch the game on the field... or the game on the gigantic hi def screens?

I despise the new stadium and the cowboys and jerry jones... that said I would've loved going to this game.

from what I hear, it is hard not to watch the big screen

That is the core of my question... Seems you could easily be far enough away from the field that watching the game on the in house hi def would be preferable...

It was almost like being at a club rather than being at a football game. We had a great time and the fans were pretty cool. We wanted to see what a billion bucks will get you.....and a Jaguar victory.

Football should be played in the elements. I hate domed stadiums!

So it looks like you had seats near the endzone, how did you get the good seats.  I paid for some pregame passes to an Astros game and was on the field during bp, but there where no great seats for the game.  I'm guessing you got something similar - they give you a tour of the stadium and such.

Front row, end one. We paid dearly for these way back in July with NFL Ticket Exchange and Ticketmaster. We went on the self guide tour on Saturday (17.00), the VIP's were sold out and I don't think Jerry Jones gives you anything. Plus, a double vodka water, twenty bills. Gotta pay for that sucker somehow.

Yeah we need more dumps in pro football like Qualcomm. Lets go old school with those girders that blocked the view of fans (like old Baltimore Memorial Stadium), bleacher seating, and crappy scoreboards.  ::)

Im personally not against the domes. However, I think they should be retractable and only used if there is bad weather (rain, snow, etc) and maybe on occasion in the heat of the summer. Because we all know how hot our home games got this year. A dome what have been nice on those days.

Yall know that Cowboys Stadium has a retractable roof just like Reliant Stadium, Univ of Phoenix Stadium etc, opposed to permanently domed stadiums like the Superdome, the Georgiadome, Metrodome (MOA) etc.

But the way is looks its not completely retractable. At the most, it will just let some sunlight in. (from what Ive seen on the pics, I could be wrong)

I'd rather be there then in some spaceship night club while there is supposedly a football game being played.

As if the NFL is expensive enough... you build a stadium like this & charge $90K for a PSL and you price just about every average American out of the sport.

Maybe bring some headphones and glow sticks to Everbank if you need trance music during the game.

If I had to guess I'd say roughly whatever you see above the playing field, of course I could be wrong. LOL. That stadium looks excellent. I dunno if the Super Bowl in any other city will ever have the state of the art enviornment that Cowboys Stadium provides atleast in the near future. Good look for whoever hosts the SB after Dallas.

I find it interesting that Dapperdan mentioned "classic Lambeau type facilities". If you put Lambeau Field in any city outside of Green Bay and it would be considered a dump, but since GB has "the ghost of Lombardi", "the frozen tundra", a great history and great fans, it's cool. Lambeau is definitely a special case, and shouldn't be the "water mark" NFL stadium in the 21st century . I personally think that it's a dump with that bleacher seating, but everyone seem to like it or whatever, because of history and crap. If Jax played in a replica of Lambeau, the Jags would get contracted. LOL

I'll be in that spaceship enjoying the game looking up in awe of that giant Mitsubishi Electric screen. Now the ticket prices are a whole other issue. :)

This is not a stadium, it's a mall. How depressing to sit in that for four hours every Sunday. Three cheers for open air stadiums: wind, rain, sun! Stupid Cowboys--glad we thrashed 'em.

You would be in the minority... Lambeau is state of the art and is utilized 24/7/365.  It hosts weddings, banquets, tradeshows, conventions, conferences, meetings and special events.

This is from a station in Dallas called The Ticket.  They do a fake confrence call with Jerry Jones and Wade Phillips.  This is the one the Monday after the Jags game....  Priceless....

I guess it would be nice to visit other cities stadiums just to get a feel. I was suppose to go to the Cowboy game, but couldn't get off work. From TV it does look awesome, but I guess you would have to be there to get a real Feel of the experience. Unfortunately the world has gone build it bigger, and bigger so no one really cares about the game day experience. All the announcers could talk about was the screen or something about the stadium. This is right up the NFL's alley a big money maker.

I like Everbank's stadium not just because I am a Jags fan, but its an good football experience. Now that upper deck, I'll never sit up there again, you really feel disconnected from the action, just my opinion though.

Some new stadiums (based just on secondhand reports and observation of how they look on TV) seem to strike the right balance between having all the modern amenities but not detaching themselves from having the feel of football about them.  Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati.  But definitely not Dallas.

My only bases for comparison are the current and former Redskins stadiums, but EverBank is infinitely nicer than both.
