Title: HBO filming movie Downtown
Post by: Lunican on October 10, 2007, 10:02:21 PM
HBO will be filming a drama entitled “Recount” in downtown Jacksonville over the next three weeks. It recounts the events surrounding the 2000 presidential election.

Thursday, Oct 11th

1. Pearl St. between Adams St. and Bay St. will be closed from 8 a.m. until about 10 p.m.  The movie crew will be filming scenes of a motorcade in rain, and rain maker equipment will be on site.

2. Forsyth St. between Clay St. and Julia St. will be closed from 6 p.m. until about 4 a.m.  The movie crew will be filming scenes of a political demonstration. Vehicles will be traveling westbound for the scene, and rain maker equipment will be on site.

If they would have started filming a week ago the rain maker equipment wouldn't be needed.

Jason, it's better to make the stuff... Though I hated my short stay with Universal, and LOVED my crazy time at Dan Curtis Productions, at least I wasn't standing in the water. The industry really loves the dry weather more. That way the crew stays dry, cameras, production, and very expensive lighting and about 1,000 different electrical cable connections work better when they're dry. This probably took the whole industry away from us in the first place. California is dry, Florida is NOT.

Florida is much better though.  ;)

I know a couple people who will be extras in this movie.  They're supposed to be voters at the polls.
