Title: The "Mica" Effect
Post by: spuwho on October 18, 2010, 03:24:03 PM
If John Mica is able to be named to the Chair of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, what will the impact be on NE Florida?

In the horse trading that occurs during committee, many members recommend and push through items of the chair's interest so that they may curry favor with their own bills and appropriations and recommendations.

Even with a "tea party" mentality sweeping the US, can he even be in a position to make spending recommendations when Congress may be headed for austerity?

With so much on NE Florida's plate with regards to infrastructure, will there be enough to go around and sooth everyone's needs?

If you were chief of Mr Mica's staff, what list would you turn over for NE Florida?

Whatever it is, commuter rail should be at the top of any list.  Mica is a huge commuter rail supporter.

He also LOVES the idea of a completed Skyway as a downtown NETWORK.
