Title: New Energy from SAMBA
Post by: sheclown on October 14, 2010, 09:39:01 PM
Just returned from the SAMBA meeting held at 3 Layers.  Great turnout, we packed the special events room, helped ourselves to some cheese and treats, and listened to great plans for the 3/50 project.

Shawn spoke to us about the experience of 3 Layers and the special challenges of running a small business in Springfield.  Don Downing introduced the members who are running for board positions:  Helen Albee, Christina Parrish, a local CPA (whose name I didn't catch), and Allison of Sweet Petes.  The election will be held in November.

There is a new energy in this organization.  Much like the rest of Springfield, small businesses have gotten over the emotional depression this economy has caused and are adopting a hopeful attitude for the future.

It is a cool time in this place.  Good, creative things will happen.

Well, my 3/50 is already working.  A couple of people showed up at the thrift store today from last night's SAMBA meeting.  They spent $50.00 (that's quite an armful at the store).

Thank you SAMBA and thank you to our newest customers.
